Hi all,

I just thought, with all the concentric problems, it should be known that UBB does work. On the Concentric version of Unix.

I followed the instructions for the UBB install, ignoring the permissions of course because Concentric's version of Unix does not allow that.

After UBB was installed I went into the concentric control panel and did this....

Set a “zone” for cgi, ubb, and Member’s dir.
Set the cgi permissions in the Concentric’s control panel to allow the cgi “zone” read and write the “web”, “cgi”, “ubb” and “Members” dir’s.

That is it... that easy...

if only it were that easy.... i have spent HOURS simply fiddling around with the 'zones' and permissions trying to get this stupid thing to work. i tried what you said above, but it still came up with that annoying "cannot write to directory" or some such nonsense.

i wish i had your luck.

One other thing... my ftp program for some reason WAS NOT transferring the variable files as ascii. I had to manualy upload those...

Give me the url and I will check for you..

Anyway, Im having the same problem as stated above. Yo Dude, if you could help me out...I uploaded in ASCII manually, I set the zones. God help me I even called them on the phone (but that didnt help. Alot of them are *gasp* not programmers or webmasters,
DUDE! my URL is www.zeddweb.com. The UBB directory is in the web/ubb the cgi is their basic, CGI.I set all the zones and I played by all the rules. The Members directory is in the CGI directory and spelled correctly. Im getting the CANT WRITE things, ACL Whatever. If you could email me at magizedd@aol.com or IM me (im invisible, please try anyway) or please just set it up for me. Dude, Ive been trying for days. Just cant get this thing down. Zedd out bro.
