OK... Interland is a great host for the most part. The problem is, we seem to run into more and more idiots like this manning "tech support".

I have 2 sites with interland on shared servers, both Win2K servers (different ones, not the same one), and both running UBB (one of which is linked in my sig). Call their tech support, reference your trouble ticket #, and ask to speak to someone in level 2 (or whatever they call it now).

I am also hosted with InterLand on a Win2000 server. I am having some problems and would like to know if you can help.
I have setup everything like the instructions said, but when I click on the General link I get the page displayed to me in a text format. What could this be? I tried a few things but have not got any results.

Thanks.

Does anyone know if Neal ever got this issue solved? I am coming in a little late in the game and the reason I ask is... I just transferred a domain to Interland. I also have a UBB on a UNIX host with a separate webhost. I want to consolidate the contnet from the two domains and move my UBB to Interland. I was put on a Win2000 host despite my request to be on a unix box. I am trying to work this issue with them, but that has gotten crazy (a story for another time) *insert angry face here*

Anyhow...can UBB files from a unix UBB be transferred to an NT/Win2000 cgi-bin? This is a just in case it is more trouble than it is worth fighting them on the Win2000 vs. Unix request.

Thanks.

Yes - you can find the transfer guide here: http://www.infopop.com/ubb_support/support_ubb_transfer.html

Thanks Cal, I had read the moving info before, but wasn't sure what the procedure was when going from on platform version to the other. I have seen a few boards go down hard during a transfer to a new host and didn't want to become a statistic.

Okay here is my thought process on this thing.

1) Backup my files
2) Install NT version of UBB instead of Unix version on new host
3) Test board with new environmental variables
4) Transfer required files
5) Follow the Support file
6) Pray *grin*

Wish me luck!

Well, I tried to go with Win2000, too many issues to over come, DNS pointers being the least of them. Communication and Level 2 are the only way to go.

I did manage to get them to switch me over to the unix system I had requested initially. I have tested my board, it works great. I will now be moving my real board to its new location.

Thanks for the assist.

Cheers!

Same Here. Trying to set up on Interland Wen2K account, and I get text when I click general settings from control panel.

Allen- What did you configure in the Interland admin panel to get this working?

Thanks,
Jeff
