i recently purchased a forum from someone else. it is running 5.47c. i need to transfer all the data/members to my server.

what files/folders should i ask from the old owner?

once i secured the files i'll purchase the latest version of ubb.classic.

thanks for any help...

You'll need the cgidir, noncgidir, and memberdir. Most of them are covered in:

That document is for the 6-series. I'm not sure if we still have the instructions for the 5-series.

I would advise first upgrading the installation in place to 6.7.2, then performing the move.

Do not try to move and upgrade at once - do one, then the other. Upgrading is still quite important, as we will be ending 5-series support this Spring.

Charles, how it's sounding is that the "old owner" is only providing requested files as opposed to allowing him to downlaod what he needs directly

In that case he's up for a nightmare - Osamu, is this the case? If needed, we can guide you through putting the right files in the right place.

First, though, make sure you have your hands on a valid license.
