Hi,
I accidentally deleted all my html files in a forums HTML folder but still have my .cgi files intact. Is there any way I can get UBB to rebuild them?

I've tried Update Threads, but it doesn't seem to do it, and skips over the forum.
Hope you can help!

(version 5.42)

Unfortunately there's no easy way to tell what's going wrong, as the 5-series doesn't have the best error checking in the world.

It's likely that it's just a permissions issue somewhere along the line.

Please note that the 5-series is no longer supported, and I urge you to upgrade immediately.

hi,

as far as I know I can't upgrade from version 5.42 - is that right ?

I can't find any updaters anywhere.

I saw one page asking for a license number but I think I lost my registration email years ago. ANd the request page doesn't seem to recognise my email address I think I used. This is back in 1999.

If you renew your member area subscription you will have access to the last 5.x series install and the latest 6.x series install. AFAIK you will have to update to the latest 5.x series then upgrade to the latest 6.x series.

There are no "updaters" as they're not needed, upgrading has been how to "upgrade" the forum for some time.

If you've lost your information you'll have to contact Groupee technical support at:

Any idea how much does it costs to do those upgrades?
I had been thinking of re-starting with a free BB.

Still can't seem to rebuild the specific forum, even though I have the cgi files ok.
the permissions are set the same as other forums.

forum12 -777
html folder - 777
lastnumber.file -777
lasttime.file - 666
forum12.threads - 666
cgi files are all 666
ANNC - 777

if trying to rebuild should I delete the forum index file forumindex12.cgi and forumindex12.file?
or upload blank versions?

any help would be appreciated to kickstart the update threads....
