Just noticed that my today's acive topics number seemed a little low for the day. It read 113 at 11:20pm tonite when we usually are a little closer to 200 new topics a day.

So, I went thru all forums and counted the number of threads with a posting date of today...

I came up with 183.

Now, I assume that today's active topics works as it did in UBB5 and lists all the topics from a given day.

If so, what gives here? Why would there be such a huge discrepency??

Can anyone help with this?? This wouldn't be that huge a deal if it didn't use it to gauge what traffic is like on the boards on a day to day basis... I know I'm not insane.

Would clearing the Misc cache effect the number?

Yes, clearing the Misc cache would clear the cached copy of the Active Topics page, which may result in a new number... However, posting should also do this.

So, yesterday Charles, when we were working on the gramelin list not refreshing you had me clear the misc cache file.

Would that reset the number of posts for the day and start it at zero? Is that what you are saying?

I don't understand how the number could show one thing and the actual active topics in a day could be another?

I think you might have missed my real question.... or I'm not understanding what you are telling me.

Ok, so the cached copy gets cleared but the number of posts in a given day should equal the number of today's active topics correct? What I am saying is that it did not yesterday...

No, the cache clearing should have updated the number it displayed...

So... do I have a problem? Seems that way. I'll check again late tonite to see the discrepency. It's a joy counting 180 topics btw

There is something wrong with my boards. Either way, it bears looking into.

First, let me say, I have not touched the control panel all day.

Earlier today, I noted that the amount of posts in the today's active topic thread was 93. It's now 10:13pm and I just looked again... Total Active Topics: 31

So, in essence, I somehow LOST 60 topics.

I hope you have some suggestions Charles I'm at a loss at how this could be

I hate to be the finder of two bugs Looking forward to the fix though asap. It's hard for me to judge traffic without this counting correctly.

At 10:23pm tonite, my todays topics was reset and now reports "Total Active Topics: 19". It was in the mid 100's earlier. This is the 2nd time today the number has been reset.

Are we any closer to figuring out what is doing this and fixing it?

Quite frustrating.
