If it is a bug, feature, or what ever u want to call it.

It seems that the stress UBBc 6.7.2 is given the server put the server side a bit over the top.

After upgrading the server towards 6.7.2 the users did experience a lot of problems.

Even with the test board had same problems, not always problems, but during the day it seriously went wrong.

After a lot of testing, debugging and searching i solved the problem.

Now i see another user of UBBc with the same problem.

Completly different server, os and webserver.

Imho UBBc does have a problem. At least with some server configurations after upgrading towards 6.7.2

I can not pin point it down towards one think.

The only thing i could find out that the cookies and the response i get back from the server does contain invalid information.

For instance, session cookie got the response: NEW&

Hopefully someone with more experience in webservers and perl can put the finger on the bug.

I don't due to lack of knowlegde of perl.

Hopefully u guys can sort it out.

I had rebuild the complete server to fix it.

It is still the same server hardware. So power was not the issue.

I noticed that your board is currently modified... and members only.

Please remove any and all modifications for a while to see if they are a possible cause of the problems you're having.

A more exact description of any and all problems would also be helpful.

as given away in the past, i had both an patched board as well an unpatched board for testing. both went wrong.

it took me quite some time to find out what went wrong.

sinds the upgrade from 6.5 towards 6.7.2 people where getting wierd relogin questions. both with ubb as well with the cp.

after lots of hours debugging i found out that session cookies where dropping it's info. session cookie would have NEW& as value if it went wrong.

after upgrading perl from 5.6.x towards 5.8.x and changing the settings in iis all the problems are gone.

so 6.7.2 does give more load on cookies then the older version would be my idea.

There is no relation between setting cookies and server load...

Who does hold the sessioncookies variables?
U aint't seeing them in global options on the workstation?

the cookies on ubb do hold up several different thinks:

login
pntf
ubber
session

the last one did become corrupt with the value: NEW&

the first three i can track in a debugger, but not the sessioncookie. i asume that that one is kept by the server.

NEW& is not a corrupt value. It is the default value if the cookie is missing.

The session cookie contains the former value of the login cookie when the new post indicators are updated. The session cookie is then used to turn on or off the new post indicators.
