Is in 6.5.3 the bug with the changing language fixed? I have english as default for the board and german as option. I set german as my default in my profile. If I log on, all is correct. If the session times out the language change to english. I have to relog to fix. After updating my 6.5.1.1 to 6.5.2 I realize that this bug is this version too.

This happen too if you close the browser without logging out and comes back next day.

This bug was reported many times but I see never a fix for this. A fix of this in 6.5.3 would force me to renew my membership again. This bug is still annoying.

No, this hasn't been fixed in 6.5.3.

If you are running a version of php later than 4.2 you can edit ubbt.inc to have a larger session timeout. It currently tries to force it to 2 hours. Around like 32 you'll see a line that looks like this:

session_cache_expire(120);

You can change that to something larger, it is set in minutes.

As I remeber, somewhere someone describe here in the boards the bug and a possible solution. Buts its long long time ago and I cant find it.
Maybe you can find it and take a deeper look in to it. It was something with the cookie and a missing setting for the language.

Zarzal, it's possible the php.ini setting can't be overwritten. You might want to check to see what it is set at in your php.ini file if you have access.

Rick, if I remember this problem is related to the handling of the $myprefs array that is stored in the session. During login, the correct value isn't available in do_login().
I fixed that issue about a year ago on my modified board, so I don't remember the extact reason, but I had to change several places in ubbt.inc.php where $_SESSION['myprefs'] is involved.
