i installed a version of 6.5.2 (that I downloaded but never installed in august,) not sure if it is the final copy or what...

I have so many problems over the past few days, times, I can only view some posts if I remember who the poster was and I go to their recent posts. It will not let me enter some of the categories. ALlkinds of other wacko things..

My versions 6.5.1 was fine... before they entered through the holes that was in the software.

Is 6.5.4 stable and good? I have spent way too many hours on the version I have..

Thoughts??

6.5.4 is better. It have many bugfixes. If you scan this forum you will find the most solutions to bring your 6.5.2 to work but the easy way is getting 6.5.4

ok did that upgrade...

Now getting these errors

The following files are reporting a wrong version #
(Make sure you updated these files)
addpost.php
addpost_newpoll.php
editpost.php
ubbt.inc.php
admin/createforum.php
admin/doapproveusers.php
templates/default/editbasic.tmpl

so I reinstalled them from todays download, all the files on the server say todays date. I thought this was going to be an easy update

For some reason it's not able to verify the proper files being uploaded. You can do a pretty quick manual upgrade since there are no database alterations.

Just open up the install/UPGRADE_CHANGES.txt file and make sure you have uploaded all the files listed for version 6.5.3 and 6.5.4

I had the same problem and had to go into those files and change the version # to 6.5.3 and it worked. After that it only took about 5 min to finish

It sounds like you have a very buggered install. At this point, I'd just copy of your config.inc.php, main.inc.php and theme.inc.php upload all new files from the 6.5.4 package and then put your config.inc.php, main.inc.php and theme.inc.php file back in. That should give you a clean running copy of 6.5.4.

this ... or use a program like Beyond Compare to verify the files and see the differences
