I'm running: UBB.classic™ 6.7.3

I would like to add Google AdSense to the Forum Introduction, but get errors.
Any idea what UBB doesn't like?

There is no complaint from UBB when I insert the HTML, and none from UBB when I view the page.
The result is:
1. It's simply blank where the ads should be
2. IE status bar shows "Done, but errors on page"

When you double click the IE error Icon, you get a popup desctibing the error.
Please try it and tell me what you think:

hmm...

I don't get an error, I do see <br /> tags within the javascript tags, you may remove all that and keep it on one line. The forum intro box is probably adding the br's, so you may need to try it all on one line.

If you are adding it to your forum intro box, that box may not work with javascript, you might consider adding it to the bottom of your header include.

Well I see this thread over at UBBDev to which you replied to:

So I’m guessing it’s always been a problem and this is the workaround.
Now, my questions is: how do I do what’s in the article with UBB.classic™ 6.7.3?

I don’t seem to have Custom Islands, or it wasn’t clear form the explanation.
Under Content Islands, I have “Add a new Content Island”, and under that I have:
Select New Island Type:
  • New posts in one or all forums
  • New topics in one or all forums
  • Recent visitors for the board or all forums
  • Latest registered and approved users


Could you help by walking me through this process please?

This is for UBB.threads 7.0 only, not UBB.Classic.

As for the ads, I don't know why they woudln't work "out of the box" on your ubb.classic install, on my site (see signature, UBB.Classic 6.7.2) I used to just have my google adsense in both my header and footer (see style options)

Well we're getting closer. Adding it to the Style Set seems to work, it's just adding it to the forum introductions chokes.
Unfortunatly the Forum Intro is the perfect place.

file(S), and open up your templates directory (noncgi/templates) and start editing files lol... Youc an tell what templates to edit by looking at the URL of that page (for example, ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_daily is public_daily_topics.pl).

You could also hire a developer (myself included) to do the modifications for you.
