I would like to upgrade my old ubb classic to the latest version.

I have UBB.Classic 6.5.

I just don't see any link to guide me in making my UBB.Classic purchase. I have lost my old ubb license. I know this product is not supported/discontinued, but those of us who would like to upgrade from 6.5 should be given the chance since we have been loyal UBB fans for years.

Please help.

I need the purchase new/upgrade link

When you renew your member's area privileges for a year you get access to the latest ubb.classic files (6.7.3) and UBB.threads (6.5.5) and the threads 7 beta (final when it's finished). There's quite a few sites staying with classic for the near future

Installation/upgrade notes should still be here as well:

Grazi Gizzy, I've set this as a sticky since it will answer most questions people will have regarding their license and upgrading

The last time I renewed my UBB subscription was when UBB.classicTM 6.5.0, recently I decided to install UBBThreads and I was told that my classic UBB first had to be upgraded to the 6.7.3 version. I was also told that in the members area I would be able to find the upgrade, and I didnt I just found the complete version of the software. In the "read me" file I found this:

NOTE: If you are upgrading an existing licensed board, you need to download the "upgrade" release zip from the Member Area. This is a full installation zip, which is only suitable for new installations or upgrades from the UBB.classic(tm) Trial Version.

And in the Members Area I cant find the "upgrade" release zip .

I already have a board running and I know I need the upgrade not the complete version. Does anybody know where I can find it? Or I would apretiate it if someone can send it to my email. I really want to use the UBBThreads.

My email es esteban|at|proyectogdl.com

Thank you for yoour time

There are no longer "upgrade" and "full install" separation; the only difference in the "full install files with UBB.C where the variables files not being included.

In order to "migrate" from UBB.C to UBB.T7 you must upgrade to a version of UBB.C 6.7.x (any version within it really).

And the instructions for migrating up to 6.7.3 are here:

I'm having problems with the upgrade from 6.3.1.1 to 6.7.3. Basically, I've followed the instructions and had to copy the Members/member_test.cgi file into the Members directory as well to avoid it complaining about an invalid Members directory path. It goes all the way to the point where it asks me to register an administration username, which I initially can't as the board is closed.
On a second attempt, I reset the board to its starting state, opened the board, enabled registration, and removed the need for registration to be approved. This time it allowed me to register an administration username, but then clicking on the "continue" link on the setup told me that there was no registered administrator though there were registered members. Looking in the code, it seems that the perms_index.cgi file isn't being populated properly (at all?) by the upgrade.

So, two questions and an observation. Firstly, am I supposed to be able to upgrade the board without having to change the registration settings and re-open the board? Secondly, does anyone have any idea why the upgrade isn't working?
Finally, the upgrade instructions need amending to include the fact that the Members directory also needs to be copied in.

???

I can't remember ever having to jump through those hoops. I *may* have commented out the check for the membertest.cgi file, but that's a little fuzzy. If I did, the last time was years ago. It really should be going smoother than that.

If you are upgrading you shouldn't have to register an admin account, you should already have one. Are you installing in another location other than what you already had?
