I would so much love it if ubbthreads kept track of the users post count that if they have 7 msgs and they delete 1 it shouldn't stay at 7 but drop to 6. I hate having to go to sql and changing it in there. Any chance this will be addressed and put into the software?

I think this is a tough area.....

Some people purge posts over X days old... and you wouldn't want to reduce their post count for that.

But perhaps it could reduce their psot count if the user deletes their own post.

Although if they live so much for the post count and title... [Razz] who am I to take it away. [Wink]
I've seen users make 10 or more posts to hit a new title, and delete them right away.

I see your points on the purge x amount of days, but why bother keeping track of posts then if its not going to matter if you delete them and you stay with the same exact amount? Me personally I would prefer it to keep track and if the messages that you wrote are purged they are gone and so are the posts you made, thats how I see it. If this can't be done I would like to see a hack made for it though [Smile]

Well there's two schools of thought on that I guess.

For example here... If I've made 2100 posts (or answered 2100 questions) just cause some of them may be for older versions and the posts might be gone.... it wouldn't really be right to set me back to 200.

I look much more active and knowledgeable with 2100. And I have made that many posts.

With the title system, you wouldn't want an active user going from 'old hand' to 'newbie' overnight just because the board did some housecleaning. [Smile]

I think I like your idea when you said it wouldn't alter the user's post count from a purge only the post count would change if it was deleted by the user or admin deletes it I think that would work out better then what I was previously saying.

That'd be an easy hack. [Smile]
