Our forums can't be viewed unless you are a member, but we are having the standard problems of newbies jumping in without spending time getting to know the community, asking distracting and sometimes downright stupid questions. It would be great if there were a way to allow new members to read but not post for a set period of time -- say, a week.

Interesting idea... you could easily do a hack it... all you hack to do is run a daily cron which adds all accounts older than a week to a group which is required to write....

I'm too busy with exams coming up to do that right now :-( Sorry
