#141194 - 04/29/03 10:38 AM Weird character "^M" at end of each line in .cgi files

Hi,
I've just downloaded the newest version of UBB 6.5 onto a win2k machine. I unzipped the files, and uploaded them to a UNIX machine, in ASCII mode for cgi and other text files. The problem i'm getting is that at the end of each cgi files, there's a "^M" character. I am assuming that this is a PC carriage return or newline. Can anyone help with this ? This is driving me crazy.

Thanks.

I believe you are correct. Did you open any of the files on the Windows machine before uploading them? What zip program did you use to unzip, and what FTP program did you use?

If you didn't use Winzip to unzip, trying using it instead. Also, you might try a different FTP program to get the files to the UNIX box.
