#152823 - 01/29/02 10:53 PM Error with 6.2

I just installed 6.2 on my Win2k Server over my 6.1.0.4 UBB. Here's the first error reported by a user:
An error has occured:

Can't locate object method "path" via package "UBBCGI::Cookie" (perhaps you forgot to load "UBBCGI::Cookie"?) at Modules/UBBCGI/Cookie.pm line 98, <BdLrkFCvXZjvvtps> line 1.

Please inform the board administration of this error so that they may fix the problem. Thank you!
Any idea's? It's not a regular problem in that it doesn't happen every time a user tries to post.

And when I responded to my users comment on the board (where he informed me of this error) I got the following error when I hit the "post" button:
An error has occured:

c:/inetpub/wwwroot/fullauto/cgi-bin/ubb_lib_secgroups.cgi: syntax error at c:/inetpub/wwwroot/fullauto/cgi-bin/ubb_lib_secgroups.cgi line 159, at EOF
(Might be a runaway multi-line !! string starting on line 155)
Missing right curly or square bracket at c:/inetpub/wwwroot/fullauto/cgi-bin/ubb_lib_secgroups.cgi line 159, at end of line

Please inform the board administration of this error so that they may fix the problem. Thank you!
Wow... I'm worried.

When I tried to reindex my forum stat files I got the following error:
c:/inetpub/wwwroot/fullauto/cgi-bin/cp_index.cgi: Missing right curly or square bracket at c:/inetpub/wwwroot/fullauto/cgi-bin/cp_index.cgi line 300, at end of line
syntax error at c:/inetpub/wwwroot/fullauto/cgi-bin/cp_index.cgi line 300, at EOF
What should I do about that file? Can I replace it from my 6.1.0.4 back-up?

Are you trying to run UBB under the Perl DLL?

I did get it to re-index the Forum Stat Files on the second try (thank goodness) but the errors still happen periodically.

Oh, and I'm not running PHP either. That still causes problems which I've never been able to resolve.
Sorry, UBB has encountered an unexpected, fatal error. This error is extremely abnormal. Please contact the board administration. The error text is:

Can't truncate 'c:/inetpub/wwwroot/fullauto/ubb/cache-VHZHR7W8/pntf/now.cgi'.

The exact error returned by the operating system is:
Bad file descriptor

Here is the backtrace:

Backtrace: ubb_lib_filehandle.cgi:474 -> sub UBB::FileHandle::tracer
Backtrace: ubb_lib_filehandle.cgi:151 -> sub UBB::FileHandle::__ANON__
Backtrace: ubb_lib_pntf.cgi:306 -> sub UBB::FileHandle::truncate
Backtrace: ultimatebb.cgi:247 -> sub UBB::PNTF::write

» Please use your browser's back button to return.
...another one reported by a user.

Any idea's?

I have had all the errors above apart from the first one.

It was my permissions, I had to do them all again from the server.

No more errors.

Get your host to check all the permissions again.

The problem only happens intermittently. I think I've noticed that it begins to happen as more users are on the site. Now that I have the Who's Online feature I can see that as the number of users hitting the site increases, so does the instances of these errors.

I have a clean install of the OS and nothing else is running on the server but IIS, UBB and Perl. I have installed PHP but that causes a whole batch of other problems when enabled so I don't run it right now.

But, with that said the board does appear to run faster under 6.2. I've read other people saying the same thing and I also know that Infopop claims that's not a feature... but I've noticed a marked improvement in speed. That I'm happy about!
