i'm not sure if this goes here or in bugs, although i'm leaning towards here since i'm pretty sure it's not an issue with the ubb...

one of my users uses Excite.com for email. whenever she gets any sort of correspondence from the bbs, whether it's lost login info, private message notification or whatever, the messages show up in what appears to be encrypted (?) letters and numbers, for example:

she said this just started happening since the whole excite.com company change over thing, but any of the saved info from the bbs she has goes bezerk like that. pretty weird behavior. i asked her if she had any security preferences in her email turned on or anything and she said no, so i'm kind of at a loss.

Is this user using Excite's webmail feature?

I have had a recent report from an Excite.com user about the same problem when trying to retrieve a forgotten password. My outgoing email is set to text mode, using sendmail and V6.20.

If this is an excite-only issue, it's going to be hard to track down...
