May have posted this initally in the wrong section so here goes:

After installation of UBB6 I thought it was all working okay, etc. I tested registering a new account and after submitting the new user it goes to a blank white screen. The user is registered and logged in if you refresh the screen or go back.

Is this a current glitch or something that I have done? Will scare off new people as they will have no way of knowing if they have made it online right away.

I did as much checking of my system as I could but it is still happening. If anyone has an idea or if this is a glitch in the beta please let me know.

Well it is somewhat comforting to know that it is not something that I have done myself. I understand this is just a beta so I'm upset about it at all, I am just hoping it gets fixed shortly.

I am having the exact some problem. The members are becoming logged in, but i'm not sure if it will stay permanent. HOWEVER the member files themselves are not being written.

I'm having the same problem that you are. After I create the Admin account it presents me with a blank screen. Looking in the Members directory I can see the account I created, but the UBB does not recognize it. Argh! .

Ok... i just went back and tried to log in as one of the names i did earlier.

The log in was insuccessful, and it said the username does not exist. Apparently the "unique cookies" that ubb6 writes are being written and stored in your browser, but the script gots null before it gets to writing the member files, member total, and last number files.

Also i forgot to mention that the first time it went blank for me, the member file WAS written, but it put it as 00000001.cgi. I think its becasue my last number file was blank. Since then, i have got nothing.

if you try to register, Ubb will createe new member file, but does not update memberlist.cgi !!! That is a problem.


Also, "email members" option from cp doesn't work eather. Could be related problem, because registraton process try to send email too...

I am facing the same problem .. hope to have a beta 7.2 soon that resolves this prob.

I hate to do a "me too" post, but me too...

Once I hit the submit button for a new registration, all I get is a blank screen. I've done some checking, and the next member file xxxxxxxx.cgi is written in the Members directory, but as noted above, the memberslist, memberstotal, lastnumber and emailfile files are not updated. So, the next person to register will simply overwrite the same xxxxxxxx.cgi file, and the person's info is lost.

I've seen a similar problem when some files were FTP'd over in binary (as opposed to ASCII). However, I've re-loaded all my files from scratch, and that doesn't seem to be the problem.

The original submit calls ultimatebb.cgi with some variables. Obviously ultimatebb.cgi is working (because the board works) so I suspect a file that is included only when a registration is the problem. (Most likely ubb_registration.cgi.) Either that, or the specific code that is invoked for a registration is broken.

If I get any more info, I'll post it here.

I sure hope someone solves this one fast.
