I don't know whether this is actually a bug or not, however, there seems to be a limit to how much can be posted in a My Message PM post.

Has anybody else experienced this?

Also, can this limit be changed somewhere?

When I try to do a preview before posting a long PM, I receive the following message:

Not Found
The requested URL /forums/ubbthreads.php was not found on this server.

This is when I want to copy and paste something there.

Anything beyond about 10 lines gives me that message.

Anything 10 lines or shorter works ok.

I don't think it is a text limit bug, however, something is causing this to happen.

We use standard TEXT fields for all of the post body fields which can hold a maximum of 65535 characters. If needed these could be converted to MEDIUMTEXT with a couple mysql queries. MEDIUMTEXT would hold a maximum of 16777215 characters.

So it should work the same as it does for normal topic posts?

The normal topic posts texts work great!

For some reason I am having a problem in the length of the PM posts.

It should, yes. I've been testing to see if I can find any problem with the limit in a PM and so far I've been able to post some pretty big stuff. Can you send me a test PM here with what is getting cut off?

I think I discovered an interesting problem.

It isn't the length, it is something in the copied text.

It is a copy of a person's email address within the copied text.

For example, the @ in the email address in the copied text is causing the whole problem.

I removed the @ from the email address and I was able to copy the whole text successfully.

The strange thing though is that it worked OK in another person's forum using the same version.

Anyway, now that I know what it is, I can work around that problem.

If you have any ideas why and can come up with a fix, that would be better.

That's a bit odd. Is it only doing that on certain email addresses or any email addresses? I'm a bit stumped at this point as it doesn't make much sense. Can you send the email here to me in aPT or does it do that to you here as well?
