Is there a list of what gets imported and what doesn't? I've got some users complaining that their watch lists didn't import :/ Some other things that I can't remember right now.

I'd appreciate if someone could put together such a list. I'm about upgrade and import, but after reading some of the threads in this forum, I'd like to know what I'm getting myself into in advance.

I'm not sure Myke. Most people seem to get through it okay, some easier than others. Some has to do with how much you know about computing overall and how big or complex your site is.

I had some problems too but now it's running smooth as silk.

I'm going to buy a license tonight for another site but this one is from scratch so hopefully no problems at all.

Just wish I could get either 7.1b3 or 7.1b4 as the install from the get go instead of 7.02

I think I'm savvy enough with php, sql, programming/scripting to work through most problems (I hope). But I would just like to know ahead of time what sort of problems I might be up against, rather than get surprised by my users once they run into them.

One thing that concerned me though, after looking at the import script, was that there's an undo_markup function which looks similar to the one in ubbt.inc.php. I've made my own mods to the markup functions, so would I need to do the same for the importer?

Also, does the importer let me decide exactly what I want to import? Or does it try to import everything?

And as I understand it, the original forum won't get modified, so if the import goes horribly bad, I can always try it again on a new install (right?)

The import is a standard import and will import all items such as polls, posts, PM's etc.

If it fails, which is hopefully unlikely, then you would just clear your tables, run createtables.php and thn import again - there is no need to re-install threads.

The importer tries to import everything that was stock from both ubb.c and ubb.t; it also imports some (very little though) modifications data (like the ubb.c calendar mod as i recall).
