I need some advice as to what would be a virus/firewall program that will allow me to EASILY access the 'net without compromising my computer.

I've usually used McAfee in the past (familiarity, yada yada yada), but when I updated it today, it wouldn't allow me onto the Internet no matter what I tried to do.

Very frustrating.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I use the default WindowsXP firewall (formerly using ZoneAlarm but it got too memory intensive for my needs).

I use Symantec Antivirus (formerly Norton Antivirus).

My guess in your cfase is that your McAffee has an internet security section (most do now), just go in there and start tweaking options till it lets you back on lol
