We run an English site but we have a few German members.

We don't really want them posting in German, but don't mind if they read it in German.

Will this language file mainly auto convert to German for reading? What happens for posting?

It'd only show the forum language strings in german, it won't convert threads and content to german.

I don't think we have multi language support in 7.0, I believe this is coming back in 7.1 (or did rick bring it back already? I'm not sure, i guess thats what the changelog is for).

It looks like it's supported in Control Panel.

Can the ADMIN files be left out since we don't have any German speaking Admins at this time?

If you use my german language files the whole system converts to german except the posting content. 7.0.x support only 1 language for all.

Yup, just checked out the changelog:

Also modified the language editor in the control panel so the admin can check which languages the user can choose from.
10-24-2006: 7.1 Feature: Finished with all modifications to bring back user selectable languages.


The feature for users to select their own language doesn't exist in the current codebase; it will be back in 7.1.

in languages\german\admin\generic.php was a bug. The last sting is missing a ; at the end. I fix it and reupload the archive. It cause a blank screen in the language editor while using the search for a string. Please edit the line or use the file from archive.
