We were getting occasional SQL errors. Sometimes it happens once and then a reload will clear it. Other times you can get the same error for 10 minutes.

seems that your connection to the database server breaks down:

Maybe connection problems or something other is wrong with the database server

The error message is indicitive of your connection to the MySQL server going flop; either by it being overloaded and unable to accept connections, or being down completely.
