I'm poking around comtemplating an upgrade and comparing 7 to my current 6.5.5

I noticed the non-read post count isn't shown.

You know the (23) numbers that show how many unread posts there are. I use that on my current board and it seems to be a favorite.

Is that just turned off here?

That didn't make it into the 7.0 rewrite, but it is coming back in 7.1 that is currently in private beta testing.

Rick,
Do you ever sleep?

I also noticed that I can't determine new threads or posts since the last visit.

Am I that dense or am I really missing something here?

Rick sleeps a lot, I however do not ;\) hehe...

If there are new posts since your last visit, the "new posts indicator" will (rather it should) light up; additionally if you're using the Active topics feature there should be an "arrow" to the left of the topic listing which should allow you to jump to the latest post.

These however will only work for users so long as they're logged into your forum.

I sleep when the wife makes me \:\)

You should be able to see new posts by the coloring of the folders/icons on the left side of column. If you're using the default style they should be yellow-ish when there is something new and grey/white-ish when there isn't.

Ah OK.. I see that.
Takes awhile to get used to stuff.

I can imagine a few thousand folks waking up to this change some morning. I better take a week vacation when I switch over. lol

Smaller avatars. Theres certainly a revolt in the making. lol

I think you have issues with your server date. Says I registered in April and I registered yesterday.

DUH.. you guys are using the non-intuitive date format. You like driving folks crazy by showing off your geek date format I see.

Sorry I'm pretty far off topic at this point. I'm heading for the corner. \:o

Yes yyyy/mm/dd is excellent for computers and sorting, but since most of America doesn't use it it's hard to switch.
