With the conversion, I had a tremendous glitch with the calendar.

One of my moderators went in and added birthdays for every day there was a bday so that it'd appear in this calendar modification we had.

Now, a little bit like the PMs that regenerated themselves, the calendar is very messed up--with lots of repeats of the hand-entered events.

Right now, I have her going in and deleting these events, but it is a very time-consuming task!

Is there any way to do a mass clean-up of the calendar w/out killing the birthdays added via the profile option, or any way that more than one event can be edited at a time?

Which "calendar modification"?

That is a mess. With the standard calendar function it'd be unnecessary to manually add any birthdays that your members choose to share themselves via their profile settings.

I'm thinking you could do an SQL query to delete all rows containing "birthday" from the database?

Something like this comes to mind:
 Code:
delete from `ubb7_CALENDAR_EVENTS` where `CALENDAR_EVENT_SUBJECT` LIKE CONVERT( _utf8 'birthday%' USING latin1 );

Keep in mind that birthdays shown through the profile option are not kept in the calendar_events table. and be sure to replace my ubb7 with whatever your forum prefix is.
