Well you managed to buy a vBulletin license so I'm sure you can figure out how to sell it.

If your Parents or a friend bought it then have them try to sell it.

Post on the vBulletin forum and try to barter it or sell it I'm sure someone over there might like say a 10% discount on a new license.

Well, they have a system TO update the information yes? Well, give him access to that, and tell him to change your usr/pass then tell him about the policy (well rathertell hima bout th epolicy in the first place, then give him access if he agrees) then he can update the contact info whenever he pleases (after the date taht is)

I "buy" ubb licenses myself, but they generally have no member area access (as I don't need it); I generally get the license and validate, then pay, but everyone knows me :shrug:

You know I used to be an open source guy for forum software but in the end I thought they were also a lot more open to getting hacked.

I mean, we've been hacked with this software too, but nowhere near as often as we were with any of the other forums we have used over the years.

On top of that, they have ALWAYS supplied quick fixes here while most of the other open source forums would take a few days to get the fix done. Most of the time the technical genius who helps with my site, just wrote the fixes himself because otherwise we would just be open to attack for a couple of days straight. That is NO GOOD!!

The problem with software like this is that it eventually becomes a known commodity and if the source code is out there, you are going to have a ton of hackers trying to beat it.

Yupp you are right. But UBB Central is too expensive, it is a great product but it would be better if it was cheaper. vBulletin is way too expensive and UBB Central is even more so even if it is a better products.

There are many mods/styles available for UBB.threads over at UBBDev.

Included in the mods is a simple php class that allows you to utilize the member system outside of the forum.

So yes, you can integrate and change it due to your needs.
