Ok, I am posting this here because it probably is not a Threads issue but rather some Netscape setting. I have a member who uses Nets-crap, I mean, Netscape, and when he views a thread, the posts don't show completely, but rather have scroll-bars on the right and he needs to scroll to view the entire thread. The problem is, on some replies, he only sees the first line of a post (that might contain several lines) and in some cases there is no scroll bar, thus no way for him to see the rest of the post. I downloaded Netscape to experiment but can't duplicate this problem (he's on a MAC if that matters). On my Netscape and with IE6 and FireFox, I just see the entire post when I view a thread and don;t have any scroll bars.

Any ideas what might be going on here?

Basil

Would it be possible for your member to send you some screenshots that you could post here? Also, which version of Netscape (and why isn't he using Firefox instead lol)?

Well by default the Mac should have Safari on it. Have the user try using Safari and see if that works any better.

Though Netscape's core is Mozilla as is FireFox but each has many different features and modules one would hope/expect for all of them to render web pages the same, but all of them can display differently.

On a little bit older of a Mac I think IE is also built-in and he/she could try using that browser as well.

Here is a screen shot he sent me. First question is why are there scroll bars in the posts in the first place? The second question is, why is only the first line of the third post showing and no scroll bar to allow him to see the rest of the post?

Which version of Netscape?

I wonder if Rick's IE text wrap fix broke it for NS...?

I don't think the IE fix would be it, because that's only in 7.1, and he's running 7.0.x.

Definitely need to know the version of Netscape. When I get a chance I'll fire up my mac virtual machine and download it...if I can find it...and see what I can see.

Can you try directing him to this site and see if he has the same problems here? Would like to see if any of the changes we've made for 7.1 have done anything.

Doubt it - IE has some of it's own methods and only IE sees most of the fixes that seem to be related to CSS the other browsers ignore it. He will probably have to come up with a fix specifically for NS.
