ADWOFF member Registered: 06/06/06 Posts: 165	I have a friend who is having trouble accessing our board from her laptop. This is what she said: Quote: I am on my laptop, and I can't seem to post on the board. I keep getting the message: The host from which you are accessing the board is not recognized as a valid host. This is more than likely related to a firewall issue that is blocking the referer variable. Check your firewall settings and try again. Please use your back button to return to the previous page. I don't see anything different on this computer from what I have on my desktop, and I use ZoneAlarm on both.. The only thing different is I am using a wireless connection on this computer. I think the deal is fixed in the control panel, but I'm still having some people having difficulties. To turn off the referrer check go to your control panel -> primary settings -> advanced settings and check this box: Disable HTTP Referer Check? then submit the button at the bottom of the page. _________________________ - Allen - ThreadsDev \| PraiseCafe

And evidently her firewall or browser or ... whatever... is blocking that. My question to you is.. do you really need it on? What that does is protect your board from people trying to post to it from a different website. Is this an issue for your board, do you think?
