How can I bring back the same way of showing online users that my old 6.5.x board had, on the bottom of the screen?

At this point you'd have to hack the template files

Has anyone done this? Does anyone run the "# of online users, etc." info in the bottom-center part, just as in 6.5.x?

I don't but you can use the who's online portal setting externally if you want. This will display the who's online stats in html where you place it.

Yes, just tried to insert it as a footer and it shows up ok.

But how can I have the stats show "the most users ever was xxx at 00:00 1/1/2007" etc? $\:\)$ Forum stats?
