Hi folks,
I seem to remember that at the time that I updated my boards to 6.5.4 I set a 60-minute limit on the time that people could take to compose a post. This is not about editing posts, I've got a 6-hour limit on that and I know where I can change that. This is about the expiration of the form for making a post in the first place. I can't find where I can extend the time limit.
Our boards are somewhat philosophical, and our members also try hard to make their points without personally attacking other posters. I don't want to discourage that kind of thoughtfulness, and sometimes ... it just takes time.
I personally know that if I take a long time writing a post and then, upon hitting Submit to go to the Preview screen, if I instead encounter a page that says the form for posting has expired, I know that I can just use my Back button, as the page says, and get right back to what I had written, and copy it, and start all over again. But some of our members apparently don't know that, and they end up very discouraged that a post they spent more than an hour composing is lost to the ethers.
I want to go ahead and go back and give them whatever time it takes, 3 hours, 6 hours, whatever! But I've gone through every page in the control panel and can't find the place. It's not the cookie expiration. I've got that set for months out. Is it something related to sessions?
He'p me out, y'all.
Thanks!
