Just wanted to share how Woot! (woot.com) deals with suspensions. Kinda neat (altho I whole-heartedly disagree that the user should've been suspended, based on this comment):

Something like this could be a cool extension of the new banning feature

(Would save me the trouble of manually replacing their current title with "suspended" or "banned" )

lol i wouldn't mind seing it as well... as well as some sort of strike feature ;)...

You know, wehre mod's can strike a user for violating site rules; three strikes and the user is banned.. number of bans defineable by the admin, number of days banned/restricted decided by the admin, etc...

Wow just wondering what kind of board members you guys get. In 6 years we have not banned any user that I recall.

I ban one a month on average - usually because the register and spam the forums advertising other inferior forums.

I hardly ever BAN people, only those who've broken the rules multiple times and been SUSPENDED already a few times. Three strikes, y'know? Then again, I've banned people after 3 stupid posts before - don't get me while in a bad mood!
