With UBB.Classic the php file (aka the UBB Accelerator) just re-pipes data from the cache (and only utilizes files in the cache); you'll likely want to use some sort of html frame to do your data or hack the template files directly.

With UBB.threads it's a whole lot easier to skin/tweak the design and the template files are a lot easier to play with (as they rarely contain code).

Yeah, the link you provided uses Threads. Not sure which version, cuz it doesn't display the version number for some reason. (But very nice looking site!)

I say upgrade to Threads 7.x and have some fun like the rest of us ol' Classic users! \:\)

The only UBB.C tutorials i know of would be at UBBDev, UBB.Classic is ultimately unsupported at this point I think, and can be VERY resource intensive; whereas threads lightens that load significantly.

He was only asking about adding custom header/footer/header-insert code, available in .classic since the 5.x series. ;\)

go to /cgi-bin/cp.cgi?page=styleedit&style=6&editclone=edit and select HTML Inserts. You will need to create a template in table format and place the desired header and footers to have the table wrap around the board content and stuff. You may also change your board graphics and color layout in this section of the style editor to match your new look.
