Hi Guys:

I'm going to be upgrading from 6.5 to 7.02 tomorrow, and I have a couple of questions.

1] In 6.5, my Posts table was starting to corrupt on my old server, and Rick changed it from MyIsam to HEAP. WIll this affect the upgrade? Should I "unHEAP" it?

2] I have a few hacks on 6.5. Can I disregard, or are there some I should watch out for (and undo). I got all the hacks from threadsdev, and I don't know if I can remember (or undo) them all!

3] Where can I see/test my skins?

Are you sure it's HEAP? HEAP tables do not support fields of the type text or blob. Being the posts table I have to think you would see one of them.

Do you mean INNODB? If so, leave it. That'll be fine.

I think he means innodb, and you should be fine.

As for mods; the importer just reads data, so you should be fine there as well.

It wasn't the posts table that we changed to heap, only the Online table. That won't cause any issues with the update.

Online table using HEAP isn't a bad idea at all. It's transient, so If MySQL dies and loses it who cares? Good idea, Rick.

ahh i remember this one now; the table kept getting currupted after a couple of days...
