I don't know if thiss is a bug or what, but when my users open up a thread, it always opens up to the top post, and does not open up to the first unread post in that thread.

Is this normal behavior for 7.02? If not, how to fix.

Is that true even if they click on the topic name? Because that should take them to the last unread post. Clicking on the date/time will always take them to the last post. It's a bit different, if you came from Classic...

A lot of the links to newest post are now fixed in 7.1b5 including the link in email notifications and the latest post in a new posts box in the portal

So best suggestion is to upgrade to 7.1 - whilst it is still in beta, it is running fine on some large site (1 million posts plus) - so is fairly stable - however it is still beta so be aware of that.

If you open up a forum and click on a thread name, it opens up to the top of the first page of the thread ... the first post.
As soon as 7.1 is out of beta, I will upgrade, but not before.

Beta is beta for a reason.

Same thing with Past 24 Hours. You Hit that, you get a alist of the most recent Topics (not Posts, which is what I WANT), and then when you hit the Topic title, it takes you to the begiining of a thread.

On fast-moving threads, not good. I'd like a Past 24 Hours link that lists the POSTS, like in ubbthreads of old, and also I'd like for the software to jump to the first unread post.

Can someone tell me if my Board is acting like 7.02 should be acting?

I'm still running 7.00 and clicking on the thread's name takes me to the last unread post in the thread. And of course if I haven't accessed the thread before, it takes me to the first post. I'd imagine that should still be true in 7.02 and beyond -- perhaps there's another issue going on then...?

No it is not.

The way Past 24 Hours is working here, and the way the browser jumps to Last Unread Post in a thread. is exactly what I want.

Okay, I just realized you were talking about "Active Topics" and not the normal postlist page...

Yeah, you're right -- it seems this was fixed in 7.1, cuz the same is happening (well, not happening ) in my 7.00...

OK, so that's number 1. Solution for Active Posts= 7.1. Got it.

How about Last Unread Post?

Unfortunately I can't duplicate this problem in 7.00 as it's working for me, so perhaps someone else will have a clue, or, it'll clear itself up when you upgrade to 7.1 Final.

You can change "Latest Threads" to "Latest Posts" via a modification avaialble at UBBDev.

I believe that the active topics in 7.1 where recoded; so that could explaine why it won't work in 7.0
