Can anyone point me in the right direction of any info regarding "Groups". I really want to know what fun things this feature allows me to do with my forums and members? (Can't quite get my head around it now....)

The only thing groups allow you to do PRESANTLY is to allow certain groups access to various forums, and restrict them to only allow specific groups posting/reading access.

The idea of groups is great, but currently it's pretty limited to what things they can do... Possibly upcoming features will add to it.

I see.

I would really like to see the ability to turn off PM for individual members.

Well, I'd like to see the ability to lock the users ability to edit their preferances/profile information; which would also make it so they couldn't use pm's...

I THINK you can set the user to underaged; underaged users cannot use pm's.

OK, so can I set that in admin? And if I do, will the user know that he is suddenly being deemed as "underage"!!?

Thanks

undrraged users can't see that they're underaged; and it can be set through member management, pull up th euser and click the permissions tab and then click the "user is underaged" box and submit.

Thank you. That seems to be a fix for that problem - not perfect but if I put a user as underage in the admin then they do seem to have PMs disabled. Good, thanks.

Is there anywhere online that has detailed instructions and explanations of all the features of threads? There seems to be so much that we can do but I just don't know about it from the basic documents I found here.

The features page lists some of the more important ones, it's not a complete list, but touches on a variety of the main ones.
