It figures, I'm down in New Orleans doing promotional interviews to help to drum up tourism for them, and my forums at wineintro.com completely crashed. I've been up in my hotel room all night long trying to upgrade to the new software. I had to download a new copy of MySQL, a copy of PHP, get them all running (which took several hours). I finally got everything to the point where I got the tables created. However, when I run the import it gets up to user 69 and stops. If I hit refresh, it loads them all in again. So I re-ran the install scripts into a new database area, with fresh, clean tables. It did the exact thing. Users 69 and 70 look just like 68 and 67, no obvious glitches. Help!! I'd really like to get some sleep ...

Update - I dug into your code to see how to skip a number and manually typed that URL of "start at 71" into the browser and it kept going. Here is user in the 71 cgi file, which equated name-wise to user 70.

Odd, I don't see anything in there that would have caused any issues. One thing that helps, is to make sure and rebuild all of the meta data before importing.

If they're the same, both 70 and 71, then delete the one with only one post and off you go.
