Looks like my site is slowly devolving into the bits from which it was built. Ones and Zeros. Its sad really...
Now a large number of my users have to login twice. The first time they try to login it does nothing and just gives them the Please Login screen. The second time, it accepts their criteria and lets them in.
There are at least 10 folks who are seeing this problem. Some of them are actually IT folks for once. The only one Ive got specific browser/OS info for is using IE7 on Vista. *ugh*

I've had this happen with users who login from a non-www version of forums where the fullurl is set to the www version of the url (http://mydomain.tld/ vs http://www.mydomain.tld/) which turns out to be a cross-domain cookie issue.
You could check this by asking the users what the url is to the login page that they're using.
Additionally, if you're running apache, you could forward users accessing your site without www to the www version of your domain name, should this be the case.
Thanks, Gizmo. That might be the problem. I think most folks are logging in via the IP address of the forum instead of the actual domain. When the old site crashed and we had to move, I think quite a few folks didn't want to wait around for the domain mapping to work its way through, and started logging in via the IP address.
Bless you, Gizmo! If I knew where to send it I would buy you the biggest bottle of your favorite beverage!
Not only did that fix the 'login twice' error, it also seems to have fixed the problems that some users were having with sending PMs.
After the move Allen had set the "Full URL to main directory" to use our new server's IP address instead of the domain name. I changed it back, emptied the cache and had the users log out and back in via a link using the domain and they're working happily.
I'm serious about that bottle though. Let me know where and what to send!!!
