Just in the off chance this might help others.

The boards I just imported have the following stats:

4794 Members
8 Forums
13285 Topics
218284 Posts

It took just over 4 hours for all that lot to be imported.

Don't know how to answer that one, I'm not very technical (as you have probably guessed!!) It is a dedicated server though with about 15 sites on it, only 1 of those of a really decent sized site.
