Having a problem with redirects though I think.
Take a look here (a page that we have been redirected to).
The images at the top are not appearing.
In the redirect files, we have just put

http://www.snowjapanforums.com

....as the URL

Can anyone help? I want those top images to appear!

Ive been working with willing via pm
but this one has me stumpt.

I think its because the old location and the new location
are a directory apart?

The Re-direct has been set up as so..

$URL = "http://www.snowjapanforums.com";

And when ever a user goes via the re-direct the images fail.

So in this situation he has droped a level in the path?

$URL = "../";

Would that work ???

When I did the above, the pages appeared as before but no image. The URL in the browser also came out as:

http://www.snowjapanforums.com//ubbthreads.php/ubb/cfrm

try

$URL = "..";
And if that fails

$URL = ".";

Stranger things have happened

On the case.....

At this point in a thread Gizmo would post somthing like...

"Good"

i dont see the point really

I'm going to wait for the feedback lol....

>>>> page not found, worse!

It looks like search engine friendly URLs are the cuplrit. The redirect points to:

http://www.snowjapanforums.com/ubbthreads.php/ubb/cfrm

However, if you go to this url it works:

http://www.snowjapanforums.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=cfrm

The reason is that all of your image src in the header are like thi <img src="image.gif"> So it's going to look in the current directory (which it thinks is /ubbthreads.php/ubb/cfrm) which obviously doesn't exist.

2 ways to fix this. Change your header include so you include the full relative url, ie <img src="/image.gif"> or <img src="/images/image.gif">.

The second is to disable search engine friendly URLs.

Can you take a look at the redirected URL - does the redirect thing seem to be working as it should be.....?

If you're linking to items via ../ or similar, you will have errors with SE friendly URLs (as it creates "virtual" directories in the URL and has PHP parse them)...

You'll want to hardcode links to graphics to get around this.
