Kitchen heck... I had to do tiling for kitchen, bathroom, and wiring for entire house. Replaced ALL wiring, fixtures for 3 bedroom house a few years ago. That sucked - was 110 degrees outside but about 140 in the attic space where I had to do a lot of the wiring - and had to do all of it after work and weekends was up till 03:00 many nights - busted my head on too many beams - argh... tell me about NEVER AGAIN.

HAH! None of you - I repeat - NONE of you, know the torture of a wife who wants to re-carpet the entire house in one go.

I thought she'd be happy when I (stupidly) said yes...

It didn't occur to me that EVERY SINGLE PIECE OF WOODWORK THROUGHOUT THE HOUSE WOULD NEED ATTENTION...

Along with every ceiling, wooden doorframe, windowframe, wardrobe - (internal & external) etc etc etc

Who knows how women think??????

So far, I've seen a quick £3500 carpeting job turn into a £12,000 'project'.

And she's not finshed yet

If we had a mansion - I'd understand (perhaps), but we don't ....

Oh I know it alright Driv.

Original estimate for add-on was $65K with me doing all the Electrical work. As it progressed wife wanted this and that, then finally got to a point we actually removed all the interior walls and ceilings down to the studs for the entire existing house and I put in all new electrical (was only supposed to be doing the addition)

By the time the job was completed we spent about $100K

But that wasn't good enough, the next year she had to have all new driveway and brick work. That was $20K more. Now she wants a patio terrace type thing.

If that stupid show HGTV would just go off the air that would solve a LOT of the upgrades

Oh, forgot we rebuilt the garage and turned it into a studio type apartment, then put an overhead awning roof on it, but that wasn't good enough either, few months later she had to have an enclosed glass sun room.

Please - someone take HGTV off the air - it's in the interest of all married men.
