System is not sending out any emails when a new user registers with version 7.2 on windows 2003 server running plesk control panel and smartermail.

I have changes the Use specified smtp server to a different server of mine and it works. But I want to use the server that the software is installed and hosted on.

My server requires authenication. How do i configure in UBB a user and password authinicated to send out emails? Or how do I configure to work with my plesk & smarter mail?

Currently if your mail server requires authentication you need to directly edit the libs/phpmailer/class.phpmailer.php file. Around line 174 you'll see the following section that needs to be changed:

/**
* Sets SMTP authentication. Utilizes the Username and Password variables.
* @var bool
*/

var $SMTPAuth = false;

/**
* Sets SMTP username.
* @var string
*/
var $Username = "";

/**
* Sets SMTP password.
* @var string
*/
var $Password = "";
