I just tried to test out my newly installed forums and got this message when I tried to post a new topic using FireFox. I did't get this message with Explorer and was able to post successfully :

UBB Error
The host from which you are accessing the board is not recognized as a valid host. This is more than likely related to a firewall issue that is blocking the referer variable. Check your firewall settings and try again.

Please use your back button to return to the previous page.

I also turned the firewall on my computer off and got the same message.

are you accessing yoru site via http://yoursite.tld vs http://www.yoursite.tld ? this error will occour if the URL you'rea ccessing your forum from does not match that which are set as valid hosts in the config in the control panel.

You're right, I had left the www out. I just put in the www and tried again to access from http://www.mysite.tld and got the same message. Maybe I could clear my cookies? Any suggestions?

[edit] I just cleared out my cookie and still go the same message in Firefox

CP -> Master Settings -> Primary Settings -> General Tab -> Advanced Options; what are the values for "Domains for HTTP Referrer Check"
