can I send a message to all my members through a pm at the same time. Something like a global message. That may sound like a silly question but I have good reasons. Thanks

Nope, the only viable option for anything of the sort is to post an announcement... and even then it can be completely ignored/overlooked... (though i did have a request somewhere for a "notice" that shows on the cat page but no one's really commented on it)

To answer the question you must first give a question.

we got a new option since 7.2.

You could use the new "Force Users to Accept Rules on Next Visit?" option in control panel > registration settings.

This will force to read the board rules again and agree to them. I don't know what your message is, but you could force it upon them with this.

This is simliar to my request in another thread.
I don't want to burden New users who should see the rules with other announcements.
Forcing the users to a message that they have to "Accept" at least tells me they've had the opportunity to read it. SO they can't complain about missing something!!!!

Maybe a moderators can combine these two threads.

My thread is here.

A combo of a separate announcement forum like we have for the portal page and the force user behavior on next visit would work for this. This way admin can make the post in that particular forum and tick an option in the cp to force the announcement upon next visit. It would need a way to force it again when a new announcement is made.

Got that happening now and they bypass the Portal page by "Bookmarking" another page.

That means they would have to hit "Accept" after seeing the rules. I think that then sends them back to the page they tried to enter at, not necessarily the "Portal Page".

What I'm talking about is an announcement function that that would have an "Acknowledged" button on that they would have to hit before they get in.

So am I, I am talking about combing those two functions to get those results.
