Whenever someone uploads their avatar, or changes their member name, the custom title disappears.

Is this a known bug?

yes and there is a posted fix somewhere in one of these forums..

What about during an upgrade from 7.0.2? Everyone with a custom title lost it, I don't see it when I look at their profiles in the cp anymore

i believe the custom title gets copied over to the title in the upgrade..

so before syncing with post counts, just do a quickie query to copy custom over from title

and *poof* saved..

Isn't that just a bit crazy? If there's a custom title field in one and a custom title field in the other why wouldn't the upgrade do the obvious thing and put them in the right field? This is going from 7.0.2 to 7.2.2 did the fields change in that leap?

I didn't know the titles were disappearing, not sure how they are being lost, apparently there's a post count sync done without our intervention.

I've been yelled at a few times this morning about them, I'm kicking the dog now. I think I did a backup a few days ago, I'll see if I can find them and manually write them.

i honestly don't know where it got changed to munch the custom titles, but it's been a 'feature' that has come up many times already

Yes it has and I won't go on a soapbox about it as I've done before but an upgrade of a database in an Enterprise that mangled or moved data around like that would not be on the market very long.

I think Rick does a fantastic job overall but would like to see improvements on that sort of thing.
