Paint Shop Pro 5.0 is no comparison for the latest Adobe Photoshoop. But it does everything I want, so it's good enough for me.

UC might be the better choice overall, but does it have advantages over BC for the ubb stuff (language files, upgrading with hacks).

I payed for BC so I use it.

Me too, no regrets so far, it's been an enormous help so far.

I do that more, just buy something to force myselve to start working with a program

I used to use a horrible ftp program (some way old cuteftp), tried several, but never really tried them. It was just trying it with one site, and basicly used the old one for everything. I just bought a random ftp program that had good reviews to force myselve to get all my ftp sites in. Still use flashfxp till today
