The problem is we need it to reflect all the various localisations of these sites.

I think it only works now in the new format.

Bear in mind that the old set-up was a hack and therefore such hacks may not be supported.

I know that Gizmo wanted both and he may well release a further hack to do this - so all may not be lost

However as I showed there are variations of many of the media links, and being a global product we need to reflect the local users of where the product has been sold.

Indeed, realise it works - but for users in other parts of the world are not going to wish to change to the US site.

Just feedback.

1. It was very very easy for members.
2. This new way isnt good at all (seems complicated, or not descriptive enough).
3. We never have had any issues under the Hacked version.

I can not see the benefits of changing a proven working happy format.

We have a hell of a lot of thread / topics depending upon video's from members that are on you tube.

As we as captain kirks of threads go where no other bugger wants to. Provide feed back and wave huge flags when something works well and sit and sulk for weeks if it doesn't.

video code does not IMO work as well as just entering the last part.

The old method of just the ending digits would resolve the uk.youtube.com problem

Thinking on the top of my head, you could probably incorporate Gizmo's hack, modifying the [youtube] to say [youtubeold] and then modify each reference to that in existing posts - however I am sure Gizmo will solve any issues once the beta becomes plublic

When I try to view the video in this thread using FireFox browser it will not play...but it does with IE? ANy idea why it won't play with FF?

Yes, if you re-run it all bbcodes that aren't stock or don't exist in the custom tags will be non-functional. So long as you install the "compatability" bbcode tags update over at UBBDev you'll be golden.

I solved it. I did not have the latest version of FF. MIne was 1.07 and the latest is 2.0.0.12. I upgraded and now it works.

Yeh, I noticed this at my friends house; FF1 won't auto upgrade you to FF2; I found it odd...

Will probably be the same from 2 to 3....
