I have a phpBBv3 board that I'd like to convert to UBB.T

I ran the importer against the phpbb3 database and it brought the users and topics over but no posts. The forums were also added to the ubb tables but they won't display in ubb, so basically there are no forums displayed.

I dropped all the ubb tables and ran another import against the phpbbV2 database which of course is a bit out of date from the current v3 database.

Everything came over this time, but sadly none of the image attachments so any topics that utilized the file/image attachment feature (a phpbb2 mod) are simply missing.

Ideally it would be nice to see the phpbb_import script to be updated for phpBB3 so I (and any other v3 users) can import their boards to a UBB.T system.

Any interest in this project? I would be more than willing to provide any phpBBv3 information (database structure, tables, etc)...

Currently, Rick is working on the vBulletin importer. Maybe Rick could update the phpBB importer after the vB importer is complete.

The PHPBB importer I think was made for v2 so it could explain why it won't work...

The importer itself however will only take over the posts, threads, etc, but I don't think it will do the image attachments...

BTW, I think the PHPBB importer is far more important than the others; as people can convert there than to the UBB...

Yeah I wasn't sure if the importer would even make it to the end of the import on a v3 database but to my surprise it did!

The number of tables on a v3 -vs- a v2 phpBB system roughly doubled. (37'ish to 62) on my modded v2 system there were an extra table or two over a stock install.

I'm biased of course so I'm really hopeful that someone would take interest in this project and update the script to address phpbb3 systems.

I really want to move this board to UBB.T and purchase another gold license... nudge nudge, wink wink... smile
