Whenever you first enter our site (www.thepresidian.net) the following error appears at the top of the page:

Check the bottom of the ubbt.inc.php file - use a text editor like UltraEdit32 or anything that will let you see line numbers.

If there are lines or carriage returns AFTER the closing ?> tag remove them and reupload the file - do the same for the template file listed in the error message.

Interesting Brett, gotta remember that one. I see blank lines quite often at the bottom of the scripts and usually remove them, but I thought it was just being neat <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />

Blank lines are not always a problem.

I think that the issue here is that if there are characters outside the <?php ?> in a file that's included, then those characters will be output when the file is included. PHP automatically sends the HTTP headers, if necessary, when outputting data. If the script explicitly sends HTTP headers after the file is included, then the result is the "headers already sent" warning.

You are correct Dave - but we are doing one step at a time. I believe that this is prudent at this time so that we troubleshoot our own scripts before we ask the host if they are sending headers.

Hi Brett - thanks once again for your help. I did as instructed (I removed the carriage returns that were at the end of ubbt.inc.php, ubbt_header.tmpl, and ubbthreads.tmpl) but it did not make any difference.

The actual code on line 1723 of ubbt.inc.php is:
