Is there a hard limit to the number of custom islands? I'm using some throughout the year (for example - Vote NOW) and some other annual notices. Is there any way to have more than 10?

Darn... I LOVE that feature... and I'd love to be able to View and Manage them as I posted in the suggestions forum. It's a GREAT way to grab people's attention for recurring activities.

20 Islands would be just about right for me. :-)

You can "cheat" by placing code for multiple items in one island. Then, just use html formatting to separate the items in some way. It's not as neatly delineated as distinct custom islands, but it does the job.

Interesting idea... but it is a little messy. Maybe I'll just go back to saving the code in a text file and swapping it in and out when needed.

Driv -- I almost posted the same question that you listed... ha!!! I was wondering what kinds of islands other people had.

Here's a couple of mine:
1) A small island that tells them that they ARE NOT logged in. and then after they do log in, it says "You ARE logged in."
2) Happy Birthday. Lists all members who have a birthday today.
3) List of newest members who have registered recently.
4) A list of "Quick Links" for help, how to join, etc.
5) Announcement about calendars being available now.
6) Announcement that club votes are due soon.
7) and some more

As said elsewhere, I only use the left column and not the right, so limiting me to 10 is more of a problem (as it's limited to 10 per side, not 20 overall). I've used them all up, combined some functions, and still could use a few more. :/

3) Custom: Site Links / Who's in Chat (combined)
4) Custom: Ads
5) Calendar
6) Custom: "Active Member Birthdays" (active the past year) - this replaced Personal Calendar cuz no room

9) Top Posters (would also like "in past month" or something, but no room)

How do you get the code for login and birthdays? (v7.2)

The "active members birthdays" content island code can be found here (read through the thread, there are different versions. Just change $maxdaysago=60 to however many days you want to consider members "active", mine's set to 360 (1 year))

Not sure what you mean about "login code", but if you mean for Who's in Chat, for FlashChat, that can also be found on Dev here but keep reading: it needs to be put in a separate file and called into the island.
