So long as you don't overwrite them, no... Your standard files (from groupee) are in an english folder inside your language folder; simply upload these in a seperate folder inside the language folder (for example, uk-english)

yes, the default is US

Words such as check/cheque color/colour money order /postal order etc.....

Nothing major, just slightly different words & spellings.
