Thanks but not clear if files are copied/ overwritten to existing functional directory or make a temp install directory and run upgrade.php from there and it finds the functional directory ?

They should add to the upgrade document to overwrite all files to existing functional directory instead of stating to copy to a install directory so it is clearer on the upgrade process

7.3 Change: Several more style classes have been added for even more customization. 7.3 Change: The Style editor/preview screen has had a variety of updates to show all of the new available classes and also will preview special wrappers properly now.
Just to clarify, does this mean we can update our current custom styles automatically, without it touching current settings, and without using WinMerge or something?

Your current styles should be pushed into the upgrade just fine; however you'll likely have to go into the style editor and make sure none of the options are blank (they're new if they are).
