His webhost is blaiming it on an issue with his SQL DB, I'm not buying it myself, but it's working now ;\)

I encountered a problem similar to this tonight with one of my users saying that he could not post because it was giving him a 406 error. The sentence that could not be poster on my server is:

"Last but not least, I need a pot of cold water, if one of you ladies would fetch me one I'd be ever most grateful."

I tried to repair the database but had no luck there either. I ended up going into phpmyadmin and manually adding it because I couldn't get it to post.

99.9% chance that it's related to mod_security. 406 is the not acceptable error, so it could be it's finding something in that sentence it doesn't like. Heck, there was even one where it wouldn't take anything that had the @ symbol in it.

Thanks. I ended up having another person with the same problem a day later, so I turned off mod_security and everything is ok.

Mod security is truely anal; I believe their examples even state that they should be removed in a live environment...
